Winter Doubles 2026

Vauclusienne

Giles Cleal has been crowned as winner of the Vauclusienne tournament. Playing with six boules and against the best players/teams, this is the ultimate test of placing, shooting, tactics and playing under pressure.
Going into the last round, Giles was in the lead but needed to win at least two games to take the trophy. In the first match of three, he lost narrowly to Iain Haith. This then set up an all important match against Shane and Keith. The stakes were raised as Giles could see his nearest rival Craig winning his matches in the terrain next door. In the end Giles came through 13-9 which meant that a final match against Donal stood between him and glory. Giles duly dispatched Donal 13-1 to match Craig’s total of 8 wins but with a superior points difference. As Giles also beat Craig in their head to head, his victory was well deserved.
The lower places were tightly contested and after a sequence of players/teams beating each other in the last three rounds, Dan and Fred sneaked into third on points difference, sealing the night with a comprehensive victory over Vikki.

In Division B, there was a top of the table clash between Martyn and defending champions Bob and Rob. After a long and tight game, Bob and Rob came through 13-11 to retain their title.

Placing Trophy
Craig Allen won the placing trophy.

Green’s Grand Prix Trophy 2025
Dan is in the lead, but will need to perform well in the Vauclusienne to ensure that he stays ahead of Craig. Seb will probably have to win the Vauclusienne to take the title.
